An earthquake measuring 5.3-magnitude rattled parts of the country, including the capital Dhaka around 6:45pm.

Apart from Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Bhutan and China are also affected by the quake, according to National Center for Seismology in India. The epicentre was 3km from Resubelpara of Meghalaya of India. No immediate reports of damage are known.
