49 BGB Battalion has seized foreign liquor, Indian blankets, three-pitch, ready-made garments, medicines, ointments and cosmetics from the Benapole check post area on Monday afternoon.
Jashore 49 BGB Battalion Commander, Lt. Col. Saifullah Siddiqi, SPC, PSC and Deputy Commander Major Farzin Fahim said As part of the BGB’s operational activities, BGB’s intelligence and patrol activities have been strengthened at the border area for a long time to seized drug and contraband smuggled goods. The value of the seized goods is 2.30 lakh taka, according to the BGB.
The BGB commander and deputy commander further said ,The goods were seized on charges of smuggling goods from India to Bangladesh by evading customs duties.
In this way, due to smuggling of Indian goods, the domestic industry is being damaged and the country is being deprived of significant revenue.
It is worth noting that a great initiative has been taken to prevent the country’s revenue evasion and protect the youth of the country from the brutal attacks of drugs.
The BGB’s campaign is conducted in the patriotic and public interest.
The BGB expressed its determination to continue such campaigns in the future.
