Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) AMM Nasir Uddin has said that his goal is not personal gain, but to conduct a free and fair election for the betterment of the country.
He made the remarks during a brief speech to worshippers before Friday prayers at the Jessore Collectorate Mosque.
The CEC said, “At this final stage of my life, I have been entrusted with a significant state responsibility. Through a credible election, I want to help restore public trust. However, I cannot achieve this alone—I seek the wholehearted support and prayers of the people.”
Nasir Uddin added, “To build a brighter future for the nation, we must strengthen democratic practices on a solid foundation. For that, free, fair, and participatory elections are essential. The Election Commission is working toward that goal.”
