Inspector General of Police (IGP) Baharul Alam today emphasized the importance of nurturing children as patriotic, hardworking, and morally upright leaders who will guide the nation towards a brighter future.
Speaking as the chief guest at the “Bangladesh Police Merit Scholarship-2023” ceremony held at the Bangladesh Police Auditorium in Rajarbagh, IGP Alam expressed his hope that children of police personnel will grow into exemplary citizens—symbols of moral leadership and courage.
“I want our children to become ideal, patriotic, humane, and hardworking citizens who will lead our country forward,” he said. “They will not only excel academically but also succeed in real life and work.”
The IGP highlighted that the future generation must be driven by honesty, hard work, and dreams to shape the nation’s progress. Addressing the parents, he acknowledged their critical role in their children’s success, especially given the demanding responsibilities of police personnel that often limit family time.
“This merit scholarship program is more than just an award—it is an example of a rare and true revolution, showing how children can be raised as enlightened individuals despite challenges,” he added.
Additional IGP (HRM) Abu Naser Md. Khaled presided over the event, with AIG (Education, Sports and Culture) Shamima Parveen delivering the welcome address. Additional DIG (Operations) Shahazada Md. Asaduzzaman and DMP Constable Md. Hazrat Ali spoke on behalf of the parents.
Among the scholarship recipients, Md. Nowroz Islam Yubaraj and Yana Anjum also addressed the gathering.
