Heavy rainfall in three divisions–Khulna, Barishal and Chittagong–has been predicted. Meanwhile, moderate rains may occur in other parts of the country in 24 hours from 9AM on Thursday, according to Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD).
The warning further stated that, due to the possibility of very heavy rainfall, there is a risk of landslides in the hilly regions of Chittagong, Rangamati, Khagrachhari, Bandarban and Cox’s Bazar districts.
Due to continuous rainfall, waterlogging has already created in Chittagong metropolitan.
Light to moderate rain and thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely at most places over Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal and Chittagong divisions and at many places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions with moderately heavy to very heavy falls at places over Khulna, Barishal and Chittagong divisions,the bulletin added.
