Ex-army chief Harun-Ar-Rashid found dead at Ctg guest house

The body of former Army chief Lt Gen MA Harun-Ar-Rashid has been recovered from a guest house of the Chittagong Club Limited.
Getting information at about 11:30AM, members of police and Army rushed to the spot and recovered the body from a room of the guest house.
It was learnt that Harun-Ar-Rashid boarded at room no: 308 of Chittagong Club Guest House in the afternoon on August 3. After sometimes, he went out of the guest house and returned back around 10:45PM.

On Monday morning, when the guest house people found no response from inside though knocking the door of his room several times, they entered the room through window and found Harun in an unconscious state.

Later, physician declared him dead. Harun was appointed as Army chief in December 2000. He retired in 2002 and served as Bangladesh’s ambassador to Australia, New Zealand and Fiji.
