The National Citizen Party (NCP) has welcomed the July Declaration announced by Chief Adviser Prof Muhammad Yunus on Tuesday at the National Parliament Complex in the capital.
Speaking to the media on Tuesday afternoon after the public reading of the declaration, NCP Convener Nahid Islam expressed support, saying “We welcome the July Declaration. We will issue a formal response after reviewing it in detail, but we congratulate the initiative.”
Earlier in the day, Chief Adviser Dr Muhammad Yunus delivered the July Declaration, which officially recognised the July Uprising as a constitutional and state event.
According to the document, the declaration will be annexed to the schedule of the reformed constitution under the next elected government.
