Marking the anniversary of what the organisers termed the “Fall of Awami Fascism” and the “Victory of Students and People” on August 5, a colourful victory rally was brought out in Benapole, following the mass uprising in July.
The rally was organised by Benapole municipal BNP along with its affiliated and associate bodies.
The procession paraded through key roads of Benapole town, drawing significant public enthusiasm and creating a wave of political awakening across the area.
The rally was led by Nazim Uddin, president of Benapole municipal BNP, and Abu Taher Bharat, its general secretary.
Among others present were: Akhtaruzzaman, Organising Secretary, Atikuzzaman, Khokon, Idris Malek – Vice President, Meherullah and Reza – Joint Secretary, Abdus Samad – Finance Secretary Presidents and General Secretaries of all nine wards under Benapole municipality
Leaders from the party’s affiliated bodies included: Mofizur Rahman Babu – President, Municipal Jubo Dal, Rayanuzzaman Dipu – General Secretary, Jubo Dal, Imam Hasan – President, Krishak Dal, Jamal Hossain – General Secretary, Benapole Municipal Krishak Dal, Shahidul Islam Shahid – President, Swechchhasebak Dal, Omar Faruk – General Secretary, Swechchhasebak Dal, Ariful Islam Arif – President, Municipal Chhatra Dal, Ishtiaque Shawon – General Secretary, Chhatra Dal, Mahaiminul Sagar – Senior Joint Convener, Sharsha Upazila Chhatra Dal.
A large number of leaders, activists, and general people joined the rally, turning the town streets vibrant with slogans and spirited participation. In their speeches, leaders said, “This victory rally is not merely a remembrance of past glory, but a firm pledge to restore democracy in the days ahead.”
They also demanded the immediate resignation of the “illegitimate” government and the holding of a national election under a non-partisan, neutral caretaker administration.
