Masood Sayeedi, the Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami nominated candidate for MP from Pirojpur-1 constituency, said, “Sheikh Hasina, who used to repeatedly claim ‘I don’t flee the country, I don’t know how to escape,’ herself fled the country on the afternoon of 5 August last year. Due to oppression, persecution, and corrupt politics, the people of the country rang the death knell of Awami League’s politics on that very day.”
“Now, I am warning those who are trying to rehabilitate the killer Awami League and its allies: the people will reject anyone who attempts to bring back Awami League’s politics,” he declared.
Masud Saeedi made these remarks as the chief guest at a rally and procession organized by the Pirojpur district branch of Jamaat-e-Islami yesterday, marking the first anniversary of Hasina’s fall and the celebration of “National Liberation Day.”
The rally also featured speeches from Jamaat’s Pirojpur District Ameer and valiant freedom fighter Tofazzal Hossain Farid, Nayeb-e-Ameer Maulana Abdur Rob, District Secretary Zahirul Haque, Assistant Secretary Sheikh Abdur Razzak, Pirojpur Municipality Ameer Maulana Ishaq Ali, and Islami Chhatra Shibir Pirojpur District President Imran Hossain, among others.
