Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami has announced a protest rally in Dhaka on Tuesday (August 12) demanding legal recognition of its newly introduced “July National Declaration” and “July National Charter.”
The party is also calling for the next parliamentary election to be held in accordance with the principles outlined in the charter.

In a statement posted on Monday on its verified Facebook page, Jamaat said the peaceful rally will take place at 5:00 PM in the Panir Tank area of Bijoynagar.

Senior leaders from the party’s central and Dhaka city units are expected to address the gathering. The party has urged its members, supporters, and the general public to participate peacefully, emphasizing the need for a free, fair, and credible national election.

The “July National Declaration” and “Charter” outline Jamaat’s vision for constitutional governance, electoral reform, and national unity—proposals that remain unrecognized by the current administration.

As of this report, the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has not issued any official statement regarding permission or security for the event.

The rally comes amid growing political activity in the lead-up to the next general election, and is expected to draw significant attention from both supporters and observers.
