Bangladesh cricketers begin their skill training session for the upcoming Asia Cup on Friday at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.

Senior assistant coach Mohammad Salahuddin supervises the skill training in the initial stage. He will be accompanied by English power hitting coach Julian Wood, who will conduct a separate session for the cricketers to hone their power-hitting skill.

The team will leave for Sylhet on August 19 to prepare for the Netherlands series. The grounds department is already preparing the grounds there. According to the schedule, sent by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), the skill session will be held in Sylhet in full swing from August 20.

National team head coach Phil Simmons and foreign coaching staff will join the team there.

Bangladesh will then play a three-match T20 series against Netherlands in Sylhet, which is considered as their preparation platform for the Asia Cup to be held in the UAE.

Earlier, the cricketers started their practice camp on August 8 and participated in week-long fitness training under the guidance of the strength and condition coach Nathan Kiely.
