Marking the 80th birthday of BNP Chairperson and “Mother of Democracy” Begum Khaleda Zia, the Sharsha upazila unit of Jatiyatabadi Krishak Dal organised a doa mahfil in Kagajpukur, of Benapole, where top BNP leaders shared the stage and reaffirmed their commitment to restoring democracy.

The programme was conducted by acting general secretary Sabuj and presided over by acting president Hasan Imam.

Among those present were Sharsha upazila BNP general secretary Alhaj Nuruzzaman Liton, senior joint secretary Advocate Mostafa Kamal Mintu, vice-presidents Abdul Majid and Mohammad Ali, Benapole municipality BNP vice-president Atiquzzaman Soni, organising secretary Akhtaruzzaman, Benapole union BNP general secretary Abul Kashem, organising secretary Azizur Rahman Khokon, assistant office secretary Saiduzzaman, and human rights affairs secretary Engineer Nuruzzaman.

Also in attendance were Krishak Dal president Amirul Islam and general secretary Sakhawat Hossain, Kagajpukur ward BNP president Yakub Ali, Sharsha upazila Jubo Dal convener Mostafizur Joha Selim, Benapole municipality Jubo Dal convener Mofizur Rahman Babu and joint convener Alam, Sharsha upazila Chhatra Dal convener Shariful Islam Chayan and member secretary Sabuj Hossain, senior joint convener Mohaiminul Sagor, Benapole municipality Chhatra Dal leader Arifur Rahman Arif, along with leaders of the BNP’s associate and affiliated bodies.

Special prayers were offered for the BNP chief’s good health, long life, and the restoration of democracy in the country.

Alhaj Nuruzzaman Liton said — no matter the obstacles or repression, their struggle will continue until Khaleda Zia’s dream of a democratic Bangladesh is realised.
