Sharsha BNP leaders visit flood-hit areas

Acting on the advice of BNP’s acting chairman Tarique Rahman and the directives of Anindya Islam Amit, leaders of khulna Division,  Sharsha Upazila BNP visited flood-affected areas in the upazila.

Several villages in Khalshi under Putkhali Union have been inundated following heavy inflow of water from across the Indian border.

Those who joined the visit include Sharsha upazila BNP president Abul Hasan Zahir, general secretary Alhaj Nuruzzaman Liton, former central BNP office secretary Mofiqul Hasan Tript, chief adviser Khairuzzaman Madhu, senior joint general secretary advocate Mostafa Kamal Mintu, joint secretaries Taj Uddin and Kamruzzaman, Putkhali union BNP president Mofizur Rahman and general secretary Abdul Kader Khan, Krishak Dal president Amirul Islam, Sharsha upazila Jubo Dal member secretary Imdadul Haque Imdad, Benapole municipality Jubo Dal convener Mofizur Rahman Babu, joint secretaries Mir Alam and Ataur Rahman, Swechchhasebak Dal member secretary Omar Faruk and member Alamgir Hossain, Benapole municipality Krishak Dal acting general secretary Saidul Sobuj and Shariful Islam Chayon, Sharsha Chhatra Dal convener and upazila member secretary Sobuj Hossain, and Benapole municipality Chhatra Dal convener Ariful Islam Arif.

After visiting the affected areas, the BNP leaders said, We always stand by the people. If BNP comes to power, embankments will be constructed along incomplete canals and water bodies in bordering areas to prevent future flooding. At the same time, financial assistance for the affected villagers will continue from the party.”
