Ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will be referred to as a “mass killer” in secondary school textbooks starting from 2026 academic year, according to Local Government Adviser Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuiyan in a Facebook post.

In a Facebook post published via his official page (admin post), Asif Mahmud stated that a major revision is being made to national curriculum in order to pass on the “story of the people’s struggle against tyranny” to future generations.

“The history of July–August 2024 uprising and people’s fight against autocracy will be included with special emphasis,” the post read. “Textbooks will also feature information on the last four national elections.”
