The holy Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) will be observed in Bangladesh on 6 September (Saturday), as the new moon of Rabiul Awal 1447 Hijri was not sighted on Sunday evening.
With no sighting of the crescent moon, the current month of Safar will be completed as 30 days on Monday (25 August).
Consequently, the month of Rabiul Awal will begin on Tuesday (26 August).
The decision was announced at a meeting of the National Moon Sighting Committee held on Sunday at Baitul Mukarram National Mosque, presided over by AKM Aftab Hossain Pramanik, secretary of the Ministry of Religious Affairs.
