Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Yao Wen has reiterated China’s strong support for Bangladesh’s efforts to improve public welfare and advance social development.
He made the remarks while attending a handover ceremony of flood response equipment, donated by Chinese government to Bangladesh.
The event took place at the headquarters of Bangladesh Red Crescent Society (BDRCS) on Tuesday. Disaster Management and Relief Adviser Faruk E Azam and BDRCS Chairman Md. Azizul Islam were also present.
Ambassador Yao said China stands firmly beside the Bangladeshi government and people through every challenge and expressed confidence in the deepening of bilateral cooperation.
He noted that the donated equipment would help enhance Bangladesh’s capacity for disaster prevention and response, especially during the ongoing monsoon season.
The ambassador also stressed China’s commitment to working with Bangladesh to share experiences in modernization, promote high-quality cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative and jointly contribute to building a global community with a shared future.
Adviser Faruk E Azam thanked China for its timely and generous support, describing it as a reflection of the enduring friendship between the two countries.
He highlighted the critical role the flood relief materials would play in safeguarding lives and property in vulnerable communities during the rainy season.
