Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Ariful Islam issued the order on Wednesday (August 27).

The others shown arrested include Junaid Ahmed Palak, former State Minister for ICT, Jahangir Alam, former Home Secretary, and Abul Hasan, former Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Jatrabari Police Station.

All six were brought from prison and produced before the court on Wednesday.

Investigation officers from the relevant cases submitted applications seeking to show the suspects as arrested. After hearing the submissions, the court approved the applications. Anisul Haque, Salman F Rahman, Junaid Ahmed Palak, and Abul Hasan were shown arrested in connection with shooting to death of Russell Mia, a shop employee at Kutubkhali in Jatrabari, on July 19 last year.

Kamrul Islam was shown arrested in the murder case of Mehedi Hasan Prant, who was killed in a shooting incident in Rayerbagh, Jatrabari, on the same date.
Jahangir Alam was shown arrested in the Imran Hasan murder case. Imran was shot dead on August 5 of last year.
Additional Public Prosecutor Shamsuddoha Sumon of the Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge’s Court confirmed the court’s approval of the arrest orders in the new cases.
