Chief Adviser Prof Mohammad Yunus will hold a meeting with the country’s major political parties tomorrow to discuss the upcoming general election, likely to be held in the first half of February next year.
Shafiqul Alam, press secretary to the chief adviser, said this while speaking to reporters on contemporary issues, including politics, in front of Jamuna, the official residence of the chief adviser, on Saturday.
Top leaders of BNP, Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and National Citizen Party (NCP) will participate in the meeting, he said.
The chief adviser is going to hold the meeting at a time when the country’s political situation has heated up following the attack on Gono Odhikar Parishad President Nurul Haque Nur, allegedly carried out by activists of Jatiya Party, widely known as a domestic opposition of the oust Awami League government.
