The government has constituted a three-member inquiry commission, led by High Court Division Justice Md. Ali Reza, to investigate the recent attack on Gono Odhikar Parishad President and former DUCSU Vice President Nurul Haque Nur.

The Cabinet Division issued an official notification on the formation of the commission on Thursday night.

According to the notification, the commission includes Senior Secretary of Ministry of Home Affairs and the Principal Staff Officer of Armed Forces Division as members.

Formed under the Commissions of Inquiry Act, 1956, the commission has been tasked with submitting its findings within 30 working days from the date of notification.

The move comes after Nur was critically injured in an attack on August 29 and has since been undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital. Following the incident, Chief Adviser ordered arrangements to send Nur abroad for advanced medical care.

The commission’s mandate includes identifying those responsible for the attack, recommending legal actions against them and proposing measures to prevent such incidents in the future.
