Bangladesh U-23 football finally post consolation win as they beat their Singapore counterpart by 4-1 goals in their ultimate group C match of the AFC U-23 Asian Cup qualification held at Phu Tho provincial stadium in Vietnam on Tuesday.
After the barren first half, Italy-based Fahamiedul Islam broke the deadlock scoring the first goal for Bangladesh in the 70th minute. Al Amin doubled the lead two minutes later.
Mohsin Ahmed further widened the Bangladesh’s margin scoring the third goal in the 80th minute while Sheikh Morsalin made the score line 4-0 in the 82nd minute of the match.
Substitute Khairin Nadim Rahim reduced the margin scoring a lone goal for Singapore in the injury time of the second half.
Bangladesh earlier exit from the tournament race after losing their previous two group matches.
They suffered a 2-0 goal defeat to host Vietnam in their group opening match and were beaten 1-0 by Yemen in their crucial second match. �”BSS
