The vote counting of the Jahangirnagar University Central Students’ Union (JACSU) and Hall Union elections has been suspended.
The announcement to halt the counting was made by the Election Commission at Jahangirnagar University on Friday afternoon. Following the decision, teachers called for an emergency meeting.
During this time, candidates from the panel supported by Chhatra Shibir and independent VP candidates entered the Election Commission’s office shouting various slogans.
Earlier, voting had taken place from 9 AM to 5 PM on Thursday in 21 residential halls. The ballot boxes were later brought from the hall polling stations to the Senate Building and the counting process began shortly after 10 PM before being suspended.
