Chief Adviser of Bangladesh, Professor Muhammad Yunus, has extended his heartfelt congratulations to Sushila Karki on her appointment as the new Prime Minister of Nepal.
In a message issued on Saturday, Professor Yunus said, “On behalf of the Government and the People of Bangladesh and on my own behalf, I extend my warmest congratulations to Your Excellency on your appointment as Prime Minister of Nepal.”
He described Prime Minister Karki’s assumption of office as a significant moment, stating that it reflects the deep trust and confidence placed in her by the people of Nepal during a particularly challenging period.
“As a longstanding friend and neighbour of Nepal, we are confident that under your capable leadership, Nepal and its resilient people will continue to move forward on the path of peace, development and stability,” Professor Yunus added.
Highlighting the strong and historic ties between the two nations, the Chief Adviser expressed hope for continued collaboration.
He said he looks forward to working closely with new Nepalese leadership to further strengthen the bonds of friendship, cooperation and mutual respect between Bangladesh and Nepal.
In his message, Professor Yunus also conveyed his condolences over the recent loss of lives during political unrest in Nepal. “We extend our deepest sympathies to the bereaved families and wish a swift and full recovery to those who were injured,” he said.
He concluded by wishing Prime Minister Karki good health and success in her new role and extended his best wishes for continued peace and prosperity for the people of Nepal. “Please accept, Excellency, the assurances of my highest consideration,” he wrote in closing.
