Chief Adviser greets Hindu community on Durga Puja

Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus on Friday extended his heartfelt greetings to all Hindu citizens on the occasion of Durga Puja, the biggest religious festival of the Bengali Hindu community, which begins tomorrow.

In his message, Prof Yunus highlighted that the festival symbolizes the destruction of evil and the celebration of truth and beauty. He emphasized that Bangladesh is a country of communal harmony and a safe abode for all people, regardless of caste or religion.

“To successfully achieve the progress initiated through the July mass uprising and build a prosperous, corruption-free country, everyone must work together, putting aside religious and caste differences,” he said.

Prof Yunus noted that Bangladesh is a unique example of harmony among people of all religions and communities. “I hope this year’s Durga Puja will be celebrated smoothly across the country with appropriate enthusiasm and programmes, upholding communal harmony,” he added.

He called on all citizens to embrace anti-discrimination values, maintain communal harmony, and work together to build a happy Bangladesh. The Chief Adviser wished peace, welfare, and prosperity to all Bangladeshis.
