The High Commission of India in Dhaka on Thursday observed the 156th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, paying homage to his life and teachings.
Officials and dignitaries gathered to honour Gandhi’s enduring message of peace, truth, and non-violence, values that remain central to fostering harmony and justice in today’s world.
Born on 2 October 1869 in Porbandar, India, Gandhi led India’s struggle for independence through the philosophy of non-violent resistance (Satyagraha), becoming a global icon of peaceful protest.
His ideals continue to inspire movements for civil rights, equality, and justice across the globe.
