Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has imposed a ban on all rallies, processions, demonstrations, and gatherings in key areas surrounding the Secretariat and the Chief Adviser’s residence, effective from Tuesday (October 7) and until further notice.
According to a public notice signed by DMP Commissioner SM Sazzat Ali, the restricted zones include: Hotel Intercontinental crossing, Kakrail Mosque crossing, Minto Road, Officer’s Club crossing, And adjacent areas
The ban has been enforced under Section 29 of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police Ordinance (Ordinance No. III/76), citing the need to maintain public order and ensure the safety of the Chief Adviser, the notice stated.
