Algerian envoy meets Jamaat Ameer to discuss bilateral ties, democracy

The Algerian Ambassador to Bangladesh, Abdel Wahab Saidani, paid a courtesy visit to Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman at his office at Bashundhara in Dhaka, on Wednesday.

The meeting, held around noon, was also attended by Secretary General and former Member of Parliament Professor Mia Golam Parwar, according to a press release.

The discussions focused on enhancing the mutual relationship between Bangladesh and Algeria, alongside conversations about the overall political situation in Bangladesh.

Key topics included sustaining democracy, investment opportunities and diplomatic cooperation.

At start of the meeting, Ambassador Saidani inquired about Dr. Rahman’s health and extended his best wishes for a speedy and full recovery.

Both Algerian envoy and Jamaat leader expressed optimism that the development, progress and bilateral ties between the two countries would continue to strengthen in the future.
