The decision was made at a meeting of education board chairmen held on Thursday (October 9). One board chairman, seeking anonymity, said, “It has been decided to announce the HSC results on October 16. The proposal will be sent to the ministry with this date. If approved, the results will be published that day.”
Earlier, on Wednesday (October 8), an official from the Dhaka Education Board said that according to regulations, results must be released by October 18. However, since October 17 and 18 are weekends (Friday and Saturday), the results are likely to be published by October 16.
He added, “The preparation of results is complete. The board chairmen will share their opinions at the meeting on Thursday. After that, the final date will be set between October 12 and 16.”
This year’s HSC and equivalent examinations began on June 26 and ended on August 19, after some subjects were rescheduled. According to the rules, the results must be published within 60 days after the end of the written exams.
A total of 1,251,111 students filled out forms to take part in the exams under 11 education boards — 618,015 male and 633,096 female students. The exams were held at 2,797 centers across the country.
