The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has imposed a ban on all kinds of gatherings, rallies, and processions around the Chief Justice’s official residence, the Supreme Court premises, and nearby areas.
According to a public notice issued on Saturday, the restriction will take effect from Sunday (October 12) and remain in force until further notice.
The DMP said that the ban covers the Chief Justice’s residence, Judges’ Complex, Supreme Court main gate, Mazar gate, Jame Mosque gate, International Crimes Tribunal gates (1 and 2), and the Judicial Administration Training Institute area.
The decision has been taken in the interest of maintaining public order and safety, the notice added.
