Dengue fever continues to wreak havoc in Bangladesh, claiming six lives and sending 953 new patients to hospitals across the country in the past 24 hours.
The Health Emergency Operations Center and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services released the figures on Sunday.
Regional hospital admissions in the past day include: Barishal – 141, Chattogram – 107, Dhaka Division – 197, Dhaka North City – 147, Dhaka South City – 122, Khulna – 93, Mymensingh – 46, Rajshahi – 69, Rangpur – 23, and Sylhet – 8.
Since January, a total of 54,559 dengue patients have been hospitalized nationwide. Meanwhile, 854 patients were discharged in the past 24 hours, bringing this year’s total discharges to 51,783.
