Family Alleges False Case Over Family Dispute in Benapole

A family in Benapole has alleged that they were falsely implicated in a case over a family dispute. The allegation was made at a press conference held at the Benapole Press Club on Wednesday afternoon.

The victim, Asaduzzaman Asad, son of A. F. M. Nesar Ali of Bagachra Bazar in Sharsha upazila, read out a written statement during the press conference.

In his statement, Asad said that on July 21, his sister, Anjuara Khatun Shimul, and her husband, Shafiqul Islam, called him over the phone and demanded Tk 10 lakh from him. His sister’s son currently lives in Dhaka for his studies under Asad’s supervision.

Over the issue of money, Asad claimed that on September 28, 2025, his sister came to their family home in Bagachra, locked the main gate from inside, and deliberately cut her own head with a blade. Later, she filed a false complaint against him with the Sharsha police station.

The victim;s family claimed to possess a video clip showing the woman injuring herself with the blade. They sought intervention from the authorities to ensure justice and protection from false allegations. Neighbors Zakir Hossain, Mujibur Rahman, and his wife, Nurjahan Khatun, were also present at the press conference.
