Sheikh Hasina’s highest punishment sought by prosecution

Chief Prosecutor of the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) Tajul Islam has sought the highest punishment for Sheikh Hasina and former home minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal after concluding the presentation of argument in crimes against humanity cases for the fifth consecutive day.
He further sought compensation for the July victims from illegal assets of the accused. The proceedings of the tribunal was aired on BTV and other channels directly.

The judges’ panel, led by ICT-1 Chairman Justice Md Golam Mortuza Majumder, heard the petition.
Tajul Islam left it to the tribunal to decide the fate of former IGP Chowdhury Abdullah Al Mamun, a state approver and the case’s third accused.
