Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has said that it agrees in principle with the teachers’ demands.
The party will resist if the allies of the fallen dictatorship try to destabilise the country by creating chaos by capitalising on the teachers’ reasonable movement.
”As a responsible political party of the country, BNP and its Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman agree in principle with the fair demands of teachers,” said BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Saturday in a statement.

Fakhrul said BNP gives priority to ensuring fair financial benefits and job security for teachers, upholding their highest social dignity and giving proper state recognition to their contributions.

”We believe that no matter how many steps are taken to reform the state or politics, or to improve citizens’ lives, the desired progress will never be achieved without modernising the education system and ensuring teachers’ financial and social security and dignity.”
The BNP leader said if their party gets the chance to run the country again through people’s votes, it will positively consider expanding teachers’ financial security, making their jobs permanent, and gradually bringing all educational institutions under nationalisation according to the state’s capacity. ”BNP has no disagreement on these matters.”
