Ten more people have died of dengue while 1,069 new patients were admitted to hospitalsacross Bangladesh in the past 24 hours, according to a press release from the Health Emergency Operations Center and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
Of the 10 deaths, five occurred in Dhaka South City Corporation, three in Dhaka North City Corporation, and one each in Khulna and Barishal divisions.
A total of 1,069 new dengue patients including 128 in Barishal, 99 in Chattogram, 219 in Dhaka division outside city corporations, 251 in Dhaka North City, 152 in Dhaka South City, 68 in Khulna outside the city, 70 in Mymensingh outside the city, 34 in Rajshahi outside the city, 43 in Rangpur outside the city, and 5 in Sylhet outside the city.
Meanwhile, 958 dengue patients were discharged nationwide in the past 24 hours, bringing the total discharged this year to 71,487.
Since January 2025, a total of 75,992 patients have been hospitalized for dengue, and 302 deaths have been recorded this year.
For comparison, in 2024, 101,214 patients were hospitalized and 575 died from dengue. In 2023, 321,179 patients were hospitalised, with 1,705 deaths.
