The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has prohibited all types of meetings, gatherings, rallies, human chains, sit-ins, strikes, and processions in and around the Bangladesh Secretariat, the Chief Adviser’s official residence Jamuna, and surrounding areas.
The announcement was made through a public notice signed by DMP Commissioner Sheikh Md. Sajjat Ali on Wednesday.
The notice stated that, in the interest of public order and the security of the Chief Adviser, the ban has been imposed under Section 29 of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police Ordinance (Ordinance No. III/76) starting from Thursday, until further notice.
