Bangladesh Bank Governor Dr. Ahsan H Mansur has said that the country’s overall economic situation remains stable and that the economy will perform even better if political stability continues.

He made the remarks while addressing a regional seminar on MFI-Bank Linkage at the Water Garden Resort in Tangail on Saturday (November 8).

Speaking about the progress in recovering laundered money, Dr. Mansur said, “Lawyers have been sent to England from various banks. They are working to establish claims for different groups of companies. If successful, we expect positive results soon.”

The seminar was presided over by Microcredit Regulatory Authority (MRA) Executive Vice Chairman Dr. Mohammad Helal Uddin. Among others, Sonali Bank Managing Director Shawkat Ali Khan and BRAC Bank Additional Managing Director Syed Abdul Momen also spoke at the event.
