BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has said that all the ongoing crises in the country are part of a drama. Ordinary people don’t understand this — they just want to vote.
He made the remarks at a programme at the Daulatpur Girls’ High School grounds in Thakurgaon Sadar Upazila.
”BNP is the party of martyred President Ziaur Rahman and Begum Khaleda Zia. We believe in our words and actions, we do not believe in hypocrisy.”
Addressing the local residents, Mirza Fakhrul said, ”Tell me honestly–do you understand what these charters and referendums are about? You don’t and I don’t either. Ordinary people don’t understand charters or referendums; such things are understood by highly educated people. Some people from America are coming here and trying to impose referendums and charters on us.”
Hasina has no compassion; if she had, she wouldn’t have fled leaving her party leaders and activists behind. She wouldn’t have abandoned the party’s leaders and activists in such a helpless state, he added.
