4 BCB officials made OSD over Jahanara’s allegations

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has placed four officials on special duty (OSD) following harassment allegations made by former national women’s team captain Jahanara Alam.

Those affected by the decision are manager S M Golam Faiyaz, physio Suraiya Akter, coach Mahmud Emon, and official Sarfaraz Babu.

A BCB official confirmed incident, saying, “The board has acted against those who were named in the allegations. We are treating this issue with utmost seriousness.”

The primary accused in the case, former women’s team manager and selector Manjurul Islam, is currently in China.

Responding to the allegations in a Facebook post on Friday night, he said he welcomed the BCB’s decision to form an inquiry committee and was prepared to face any investigation.

The BCB formed the inquiry committee on Saturday to investigate the allegations that have sent shockwaves through the country’s sporting community.

The committee is headed by retired Appellate Division Justice Tariq ul Hakim, with newly appointed BCB director Rubaba Dowla and Supreme Court Senior Advocate Barrister Sarowat Siraj Shukla serving as members.
