Environment, Forest and Climate Change Adviser Syeda Rizwana Hasan has said that the government will make every possible effort to contain any unrest instigated by the “fallen regime” or any other malicious forces ahead of the upcoming national election.
She made the comment on Monday, while speaking to reporters at the Secretariat.
“There are still some vested interests surrounding this election — the fallen regime or other dark forces,” she said. “Some of these factors we can analyze, and some we cannot.”
Regarding whether the national election and referendum will be held simultaneously or separately, Rizwana Hasan said the government will soon hold a collective meeting to make a decision.
When asked about the logic behind holding a referendum before the election, she replied: “I have no scope to express a personal opinion on this. As part of the government, I have to wait for the discussion. Once the government sits and decides on the matter, you will all know the outcome.”
