A Dhaka court has issued arrest warrants against controversial content creator Ashraful Alom, popularly known as Hero Alom, and Ahsan Habib Selim in a case filed by Hero Alom’s wife, Riya Moni, over allegations of attempted murder, assault, and intimidation.

The order was passed on Wednesday (November 12) by Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Wahiduzzaman, following a petition filed by the plaintiff’s lawyer.

Plaintiff’s counsel Ziaur Rahman Chowdhury told reporters, “The accused violated their bail conditions and have not been appearing before the court regularly. Therefore, we appealed for the cancellation of their bail. After the hearing, the court revoked their bail and issued arrest warrants against them.”

According to the case statement, a dispute had recently arisen between Hero Alom and his wife, Riya Moni. Later, Hero Alom divorced her and forced her out of their home.

On June 21, a meeting was arranged at a residence in Dhaka’s Hatirjheel area to reach a settlement between Riya Moni and her family. The complaint alleges that during the meeting, Hero Alom and 10–12 unidentified individuals verbally abused Riya Moni and her family members.

The accused then allegedly entered Riya Moni’s current residence unlawfully and beat her with wooden sticks, causing visible injuries. The complaint also states that during the attack, a gold chain weighing one and a half vori was snatched from her neck.

Following the incident, Riya Moni filed a case with Hatirjheel Police Station on June 23.
