Dismembered body found near National Eidgah in Dhaka

Police have recovered a dismembered body from the footpath adjacent to National Eidgah ground in the capital on Thursday.

The deceased was identified as Md. Ashraful, 42, a resident of Badarganj in Rangpur district. He was involved in importing onions and potatoes from India and Myanmar. His identity was confirmed through fingerprint analysis.

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Ramna Division Deputy Commissioner Masud Alam confirmed the information.

Shahbagh Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Khalid Mansur said the remains were found near a water pump beside the Eidgah ground. “We are verifying details and continuing the investigation,” he added.
