At a press conference held on Monday at the party’s central office in Naya Paltan, BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi announced the directive.
Rizvi said that those who committed crimes during the past “fascist regime” are now shamelessly setting buses on fire. “Explosives are being bought with the looted money from various banks. Funds embezzled from mega projects such as the Padma Bridge and Metro Rail are financing acts of sabotage,” he alleged.
Commenting on Sheikh Hasina’s stay in India, Rizvi said her instructions from India carry no legal authority. “Why is India allowing this? By sheltering a convicted criminal and enabling subversive activities against Bangladesh, India is violating legal and diplomatic norms,” he added. “The people of Bangladesh do not view such behaviour favourably.”
BNP Joint Secretary Generals Habib-un-Nabi Khan Sohel and Abdus Salam Azad, and Organising Secretary Sayeedul Alam Babul were also present at the press conference.
