President, Chief Adviser pay homage to armed forces martyrs at Shikha Anirban

President Mohammad Shahabuddin and Chief Adviser Dr Muhammad Yunus on Friday paid tribute to the martyred freedom fighters by placing wreaths at the Shikha Anirban memorial on the occasion of Armed Forces Day.

Following the tributes from the President and the Chief Adviser, Army Chief General Waker-uz-Zaman, Navy Chief Admiral Mohammad Nazmul Hassan, and Air Force Chief Air Chief Marshal Hasan Mahmud Khan placed wreaths on behalf of their respective forces in the morning.

The day’s programmes began after the Fajr prayers with special prayers at mosques in all army cantonments, naval bases and installations, and air force bases. The prayers sought the welfare and prosperity of the country, the continued progress of the armed forces, and forgiveness for the souls of the martyred members of the armed forces who sacrificed their lives in the Liberation War.

To mark the day, President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Mohammad Shahabuddin and Chief Adviser Dr Muhammad Yunus issued separate messages.
