Legendary Hindi film actor Dharmendra, widely known as the “He-Man of Hindi Cinema,” passed away on Monday at his residence in Juhu-Ville Parle, Mumbai, twelve days after being discharged from South Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital.

The news of his death quickly reverberated across the Indian film industry. Filmmaker Karan Johar paid tribute on social media, recalling the immortal lyrics, “Abhi na jao chhod kar…”

Dharmendra, whose illustrious career spanned six decades, appeared in over 300 films and was celebrated for his versatility and screen presence. The exact medical cause of his death has not yet been officially confirmed.

The actor had been admitted to Breach Candy Hospital on 1 November due to illness. His condition became critical about five days later, prompting visits from several leading figures of the Hindi film industry.
