A vested quarter “with deep pockets” is working behind the scenes to legally challenge the appointment of a foreign company for handling Chattogram port’s New Mooring Terminal (NCT), said Attorney General Md Asaduzzaman on Tuesday.
The vested quarter is using legal officials and the “writ in public interest” as a pretext for serving its own selfish interests, the attorney general told reporters on the HC premises after a hearing was held in this regard.
Shortly before, a HC bench fixed 4 December for delivering its verdict on whether the government can legally appoint UAE’s DP World to handle NCT operations.
