No govt bar on Tarique’s return: Press secretary

Chief Adviser’s Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam on Saturday clarified that the government has imposed no restriction or objection to BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman’s return to Bangladesh.

Responding to Tarique Rahman’s recent remark that the decision regarding his immediate return is not fully within his control, the press secretary said, “The government has no restrictions or objections of any kind in this regard.”

Shafiqul Alam also noted that Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus has expressed deep concern over the health condition of former Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia. The Chief Adviser has requested prayers from the nation for her swift recovery, he added.
