BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has said that Khaleda Zia’s illness started due to the oppression and torture of the previous fascist government.
He made this comment at a prayer program in front of the Paltan party office after Jumma prayers on Friday.
Mirza Fakhrul said, “Begum Khaleda Zia has dedicated her entire life to establishing democracy in this country. She was in prison for six long years due to the injustice done to her by the previous government, of which she was in solitary confinement for two years. Everyone suspects that this is where her illness started.”
He said, “Begum Khaleda Zia has been in the hospital in a serious condition for several weeks. She is being treated by highly qualified doctors of national and international level. But it has been decided to take her to a hospital in England as this treatment needs to be done in a more advanced hospital.”
Regarding taking Begum Khaleda Zia abroad, Mirza Fakhrul said that doctors are trying their best and it is hoped that if an air ambulance arrives from Qatar tomorrow, she can be taken to England the day after tomorrow.
