A case was filed on Sunday against Salman F Rahman, adviser to former prime minister Sheikh Hasina and vice-chairman of Beximco Group, his brother ASF Rahman and four others over allegations of fraud involving Tk1 crore 20 lakh 55 thousand.
Three pilots of Beximco Aviation filed the suit before Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Nazmin Akter.
The court later directed the CID to investigate the allegations and submit a report, the plaintiffs’ lawyer, Advocate Md Tariqul Islam, said.
The plaintiffs in the case are Mohammad Mahbub Alam, Mohammad Rashedul Amin and Jahidur Rahman.
The other accused in the case are officials of Beximco Aviation Abdulla Khan Majlish, his brother Imran Khan Majlish, Gulzar Hossain and Syed Samiul Wadud, alias Sami Wadud.
According to the case documents, the complainants alleged that they were appointed as pilots at an aviation company owned by Salman F Rahman.
They received salaries and allowances during their period of employment, but in February this year they were terminated without receiving their outstanding dues, which exceed Tk 1 crore.
They also alleged that they found the company to be a fake entity and that the accused may have embezzled hundreds of crores of taka, while depriving them of their legitimate dues.
