Police have identified the motorcycle used in the attack on Inqilab Mancha’s spokesperson Sharif Osman Hadi.
The owner of the vehicle has also been identified as Abdul Hannan, 40. Paltan Model Police Station OC Mohammad Mostofa Kamal Khan said they handed over Abdul Hannan to RAB-2.
”Legal steps are under process,” he added.
Meanwhile, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) said Hannan was arrested from Mohammadpur area in the capital. He is the registered owner of the motorcycle Dhaka Metro-La 54-6375.
RAB later handed over Hannan to Paltan Police Station around 3AM on Sunday.
Sharif Osman Bin Hadi, an independent aspirant for Dhaka-8, was shot on Box Culvert Road in the Purana Paltan area of the capital on Friday afternoon.
Initially, he was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital in critical condition and later transferred to Evercare Hospital for advanced treatment where he is on life support.
