Owner of motorcycle used in Hadi shooting held

The owner of the motorcycle used in the shooting of Inqilab Manch spokesperson and potential independent candidate for the Dhaka-8 constituency Sharif Osman Hadi has been detained.

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-2 detained Abdul Hannan from the capital’s Mohammadpur area on suspicion of involvement in the attempted assassination, RAB officials confirmed on Sunday morning.

Following his detention, Hannan was handed over to Paltan Police Station for further legal proceedings. RAB said Hannan is a resident of Chapainawabganj, and investigations are underway to determine his role in the incident.

On Friday afternoon, miscreants shot Sharif Osman Hadi in the Box Culvert area of Bijoy Nagar in the capital. He was initially taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital in critical condition before being transferred to Evercare Hospital. Doctors said his condition remains critical.
