Home Affairs Adviser Lt Gen (retd) Jahangir Alam Chowdhury on Monday assured that the government would implement the “justified demands” raised by DUCSU leaders over the attempted killing of Inqilab Mancho spokesperson Sharif Osman Hadi, though he said details about the attackers cannot be disclosed at this stage.
The Home Adviser made the remarks on Monday (December 15) after a meeting with a delegation from Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU).
Referring to DUCSU Vice President Shadik Kayem, Jahangir Alam Chowdhury said, “Every demand raised by our younger brother is justified. We have said this before in front of you that these steps need to be intensified. We will certainly implement these justified demands.”
He also expressed concern for Osman Hadi’s health, saying, “Osman Hadi is currently ill. We pray that he recovers quickly and returns to us soon.”
When asked whether those involved in the attempted killing are still in the country or have fled abroad, the Home Adviser declined to give details, stating, “Everything cannot be said at this moment.”
